Registration & Eligibility
Who can participate in a USSSA Skills Competition?

Any youth player ages 6 through 14 who plays baseball or fastpitch can participate. Players must have a valid USSSA membership, which can be obtained online or verified at check-in on event day.
How are age divisions determined?

Age divisions are based on the player's real age on the first day of the event. Divisions run from 7U through 14U. There are no grade-based exemptions. For example, a player who is 9 years old on event day competes in the 10U division. Visit the

How do I register my child?

Parents create an account on this website, then add player profiles for each child. Once your account is set up, you can browse available events and register your players. The age division is calculated automatically from the player's date of birth.
Can I register multiple children?

Yes. One parent account can manage multiple player profiles. You can add players during registration or later from your dashboard.
Do I need a USSSA membership?

Yes, all players must have a valid USSSA membership. If your child doesn't already have one, it can be obtained online or at check-in on event day.
Event Day
What should my child bring to the event?

Players should bring their own bat and glove. For the Home Run Derby, players must also bring their own adult pitcher. Cleats, athletic clothing, and water are recommended. Check with your Event Director for any event-specific requirements.
Does my child need to bring their own pitcher for the Home Run Derby?

Yes. Each player must provide their own pitcher, and the pitcher must be an adult. This ensures the player gets pitches they're comfortable hitting.
What happens if there is bad weather?

Weather-related decisions are made by the Event Director. If an event is postponed or cancelled, the Event Director will communicate updates directly to registered participants. For event-specific questions, please contact your Event Director.
How long does a typical event last?

Event duration depends on the number of participants and competitions offered. Your Event Director will provide a schedule with approximate times. Plan to be available for the full event day.
Competitions & Scoring
What are the three competitions?

The three USSSA Skills Competitions are:
Home Run Derby (hitting for power),
Golden Arm (throwing accuracy), and
Road Runner (40-yard dash for speed). Visit each competition's page for full rules and details.
Can my child compete in all three events?

Yes, depending on the event. Some events may offer all three competitions while others may offer a subset. Check the specific event listing for available competitions.
How are ties broken?

Each competition has its own tiebreaker rules. If all tiebreakers have been exhausted and ties remain, a time and location will be scheduled for the tied athletes to compete again. Visit the

Where can I see results and rankings?

Results are posted on the
Leaderboard page after each event. You can filter by competition, age division, and sport.

USSSA Skills Competitions has a no refund policy. Please review the
Terms & Conditions before registering. Make sure you can commit to the event date before completing payment.
